How to subscribe to our calendars

Subscribing to our calendars allows you to view our events from within your own calendar. It’s easy to do and it’s a great way to help ensure you never miss an event because you didn’t know about it!

We have two public calendars you can subscribe to:

  • Nishmat Shoom Events provides information only about our own events.
  • Nishmat Shoom Events of Interest features events taking place in the rad Jewish community and/or our local community—these are things we believe our Nishmat Shoom community may want to know are happening, but they aren’t our own events.

To subscribe:

Please note: You can add both calendars, but you’ll need to follow the instructions for each, one at a time.

  • Go to your calendar app (such as Google Calendar or iCal).
  • Select the option to “Add calendar.” (Every calendar program is a little different, but in Google calendar, it’s the plus sign next to “Other calendars.”)
  • Choose the option to add a calendar using a URL. It will prompt you to enter a URL.
    • Add Nishmat Shoom Events by pasting in the following URL: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/c4iur5lth6mojtckr5sb9oobp0%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics
    • Add Nishmat Shoom Events of Interest by pasting in the following URL: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/luc9ku2k9a6baj7piiaastk7d8%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics
  • If required by your calendar app, save your settings.

To hide the calendar, after you have subscribed to it:

If you don’t want to see the calendar temporarily, most calendar apps have an option to hide a calendar. In Google calendar, you can hide a calendar by unchecking it in the list of calendars.

To remove the calendar permanently:

  • Go to your calendar app (such as Google Calendar or iCal).
  • Select the calendar you want to remove.
  • Go to the calendar’s settings (this might require right-clicking on the calendar).
  • Select “unsubscribe” or “remove calendar.” (This option is often at the bottom.)
  • If required by your calendar app, save your settings.
